Q1: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind

your day? Did you have a specific theme, style, or color palette? Did

you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your

day?

Cabo has always been such a special place for Brandon and me. We

went on our first trip together in Cabo and he also proposed there -

so we knew we always would get married in Cabo. We stuck to a

pretty neutral color palette with lots of greens. Whites, golds, and

palm frown surrounded the area and we loved it!

Q2: Let´s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for

the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

We kept it simple with the altar as a large circle with large pampas

and greenery wrapped around the sides. It was perfect for the

ceremony with the beautiful ocean view in the background. My

favorite part of the reception was the bride and groom table. We had

large wicker chairs and a macrame draping behind us that said “The

Mercades”.

Q3: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers

in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces, or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall

style of your wedding?

We kept the florals to lots of greens with touches of white. The

bouquets were large beach greenery and went really well with the

overall vibe of the beach wedding. We used the bridesmaids

bouquets for the bride and grooms centerpiece of the table and it

looked great and really tied everything together.

Q4: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest

entertainment, etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of

your wedding?

After the ceremony, we did personalized intros announcing each duo

of the wedding party. Each came out to their own songs and did a

short dance as they came out and it was really fun and really set the

tone for the whole reception! We also decided on not doing a wedding

cake and instead did a churro bar with different dipping options!

Q5: Let´s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day

look? Describe the looks in detail.

I always knew I wanted a fitted dress with a v neck and low back.

When I found my particular dress I knew it was the one right away. It

had a really unique lining on the top and my veil lining matched that

same pattern which I thought was a nice detailed touch. Brandon

wanted something simple, no jackets only button-down white shirts

with dark navy pants and brown shoes. Brandon got all of his

groomsmen unique wooden watches that really tied the looks

together also!

Q6: How did you meet?

Tell us about the proposal.

We met at a bar in Santa Monica. I was actually on my way to a date

and stopped to meet friends for a drink before the date. Brandon was

at the place I stopped in for a drink and the rest is history! I canceled

my date that night and Brandon and I have been together ever since.

Brandon surprised me with a proposal in Cabo during NYE 2018. It

was my best friend's birthday so he knew I would never think he would

propose then, but my best friend was in on it. We went for a walk on

the beach and he had an entire blank, lights, sign set up that said “Will

you marry me?” and I was completely surprised and it was amazing!

Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your

wedding day?

The most anticipated was the first look, I was so excited to see

Brandon after not seeing or talking to him all day! We were also really

nervous and excited to say our own vows in front of everyone. That

was the most special moment by far that definitely included some

happy tears!

Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you´d

like to share with other couples planning their day?

One thing we did was created a shared Pinterest board so we could

see how our two styles could come together into one. It turned out

really well! We also made sure to be in constant communication with

each other throughout the entire process. If there was something that

really meant a lot for me to have at the wedding I made sure to let

Brandon know so we could make sure that happened and did less of

something else if needed to make it fit our budget. I would also say,

try to make sure you have fun! The wedding planning process can get

stressful, but it’s a fun time in your life and you should enjoy every

moment of it!
